FamilySearch is offering a free beginning Chinese genealogy class in April!

This is exciting news, because I do not see many in-person or online classes focusing on Asian genealogy–at conferences, institutes, seminars, in society programs, or via webinars. Plus I have a niece who is half Chinese, and I would love to learnh how to help out with that part of her family history.

The free webinar is offered twice, once conducted in Chinese and once in English.

  • Tuesday, 4 April 2017 (2:00 pm MDT): Chinese Genealogy and How to Start (In Chinese)
  • Tuesday, 11 April 2017 (12:00 pm MDT): Starting Chinese Genealogy (In English)

Pre-registration is not needed. To join either of the above webinars, the day of the webinar:

  1. Visit the “Family History Library Classes and Webinars” on the FamilySearch Wiki.
  2. Scroll to the “Upcoming Webinars” section.
  3. Click on the “Show” link next to the “Asian Research Webinars” section.

I look forward to seeing you online at the April 11th web
