I am excited to share that Legacy Family Tree Webinars and I have developed a Mexico genealogy series for 2022. This six-part webinar series runs every-other-month and dives into some of the most critical records for researching Mexican ancestry – in Spanish colonial New Spain, the independent country of Mexico, and the U.S. If you research Mexican or Mexican-American ancestry, you do not want to miss this series.

Legacy Family Tree Webinars and I have collaborated the past couple years on webinars focusing on Mexico research, as well as additional topics that feature Mexican research examples. They approached me last year with the idea to host a dedicated series on Mexico in 2022. I was thrilled about the idea, and about Legacy Family Tree Webinar’s commitment to include genealogy education offerings that focus on diverse communities and topics.

Instead of teaching all six slots myself, I wanted this series to benefit from colleagues who bring in additional expertise that compliments my own. Henrietta Martinez Christmas is THE authority on colonial Spanish genealogy in New Spain and what is now the U.S., and we have team-taught in the past at conferences and institutes. Lisa Medina is a new speaker with solid experience in Mexican research, as well as being a former stellar graduate student of mine.
