Canva has been my favorite graphic design app for about five years now. It is so much easier to learn and use than Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, both of which are overkill for 99% of the design work I do for all of my teaching as well as my genealogy storytelling. My Designing with Canva for Your Genealogy, Society, or Business webinar for Legacy Family Tree Webinars debuts tomorrow, December 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific. The live webinar is available to anyone for FREE, but requires prior registration. Then the webinar recording is available for free for one week, for permanently for members.

This Webinar & Recording

Designing with Canva for Your Genealogy, Society, or Business

Canva is a freemium model cloud-based graphic design app that allows even the most design-challenged genealogist to create attractive digital and print products. Colleen uses it frequently to create visuals for her blogs, social media posts, videos and reports, and for family celebrations. We will walk through navigating around the browser interface and features, review the various design libraries, and demonstrate some of her regular design use cases. We will also discuss free personal Canva, premium Canva Pro, and Canva’s Nonprofits program for your society.

  • Live Webinar with Q&A: Wednesday, December 21, 2022 (11:00 a.m. Pacific) – FREE (registration required)
  • Recording: Will become available from the Webinar Library
    • FREE for 1 week (through December 28, 2022)
    • Then available to Legacy Family Tree Webinar subscribers
  • Handout: Available to Legacy Family Tree Webinar subscribers

About Legacy Family Tree Webinars

Legacy Family Tree Webinars produces a regular series of high quality educational webinars on a variety of genealogy topics, for all levels of experience. Live webinars are available free to the public. However, a subscription membership provides on-demand access to their robust library of previously recorded webinars and a copy of the presentation handout.

I factor an annual membership ($49.95) into my genealogy education plan and budget.
