Are you overwhelmed with Post-it notes and scraps of paper floating around, that contain notes you scrawled down while doing research? Do you have a bad habit of not updating your genealogy database with your new discoveries right away? Do you get carried away online going down that rabbit hole, forgetting what you found (and where you found it) hours later? Need a solution to carry your research library and notes with you on your smart phone or tablet?
Evernote and I can help!
Evernote for Genealogy Research
“Evernote is a cross-platform, freemium app designed for note taking, organizing, and archiving.” (Wikipedia). It has been my main go-to information and research organization tool since 2009. Anything I need to document, organize, or remember goes into Evernote. It is invaluable for research planning, for logging my research steps and progress, to take on research/road trips, for capturing and retaining what I learn at conferences and institutes, and helping me make better sense of both my paper trail and DNA research.
I have a horrible memory and an obsession with staying organized–Evernote helps with both. This session covers the basics to get you up and running with Evernote, but also includes features, tips, and use cases from which experienced Evernote users will benefit as well.
