I am presenting a new genealogy lecture for the Anaheim Public Library next month, that is quite a bit different from the typical genealogy topics I teach in my lectures, workshops, and summer school course. This is not a standard how-to class for genealogists. Instead it is a class reaching out to Mexican-American teens and young adults.
Join me in Dallas, Texas the weekend of October 28-30, 2016, where I am teaching two classes on Mexican genealogy, and a class on using the Digital Public Library of American and HathiTrust.
This June I start teaching a summer session course in genealogy for the graduate School of Information (iSchool) at San Jose State University. A course like this back then would have saved me years of frustration in my own research, and would have made me an even better librarian in terms of the type of research assistance and programming that I provided in public, special, and academic libraries.
